The Samsung lions was established in Daegu on February 3 when the Korean Professional Baseball League was newly organized.
The lions won the Korean Series Championchip in 2002, 2005 and placed on the second in 1982, 1984, 1986, 1990, 1993, 2001 and 2004.
The year of 2002 was remembered as impossible was noting. The entire nation was entertained by remarkable and surprising
performances of Lions players. In sixth game of 2002 Korean Series, Lee Seung Yep, called as a national hitter, hit a game

up by Mr. Oh, the legend of homerun king of Japan. In 1999, his ability of producing over 50 homeruns only in a year was proven
because he was there to break the Korean homerun record finishing that season with 54. Finally Lee Seung Yep made all Korean
people's desire come true with causing the "Lee Seung Yep-syndrome which heated up the whole nation in 2003. Unfortunately the team failed to the
second round of play-off.
Samsung's support for baseball is tremendous. The Samsung conglomerate completed an exclusive training facility for its team in 1986 and has been continued to invest its team and players. The Samsung Lions Ballpark, Asia's largest baseball complex, was opened in March 1996. Samsung also renovated the Daegu Stadium and has been hosting the Samsung Pennant Tournament for primary, middle and high school students in order to develop many talented young players in the franchised area. The Lions have spent a lot of time and efforts on improving community and services as well as supporting homeless children, providing homes for the senior and so on since the team was organized. In addition, one of the Samsung conglomerate, Samsung Securities, has sponsored the whole pennant race for 5 years, named "The Samsung fn.com Cup", which has people think that Samsung cares the Korean baseball environment and fans who show the great passion for the team and Samsung conglomerate.
In the future, the Lion will continue to provide its fans with unforgettable moments and constantly strive for being the world-best baseball team.
